We reach the base of the hill in a car/jeep from where you start the climb up, through scrub forest. Experience Train Safaris

Travelling by train is a quintessential Indian experience. Trains offer a smoother ride than buses and are well recommended for short or long journeys. India’s rail network is one of the largest and busiest in the world, There are around 7000 train stations scattered across the country. Sometimes discomfort can make a travel experience even more memorable in India, however train are better than being rattled, shaken and almost broken by some of the bus rides. The Haldighati passenger train journey from Bundi to Uparmal, or the other way round, is on a single broad gauge railway line through the Aravalli mountain range jungle, travelling through tunnels and over bridges before stopping en-route at Srinagar Station, a small village. The journey continues to Jalandri an old princely village with small fortress and our guests disembark at Uparmal station, where your car is waiting to receive you and bring you back to Bundi in time for breakfast. This one hour ride is really unique as you even get to interact with the locals who’ll readily share their seats with you and try their best to make conversation with you while trying to suppress the surprise and excitement of sitting next to a foreigner from far away lands! The entire excursion is escorted by one of our local guide.

Experience Textile Tour

This is our own organised textile tour to Bundi and Kota. Rajasthan is famous for its splendid range of traditional textile work which includes tie and dye, block printing, batik prints, bandhani, gotta patti, bagru prints, Bundi carpets, Kota sarees, sanganeri prints and Jaipuri quilts which are soft and warm with embroidery.
Kota is a city southeast of Bundi where we will visit local women who are working on handlooms producing Indian saris and hand woven Kota doria. They have also designed and produced paper bags to replace plastic. These people, away from the normal tourist attractions, are very friendly and are happy to show us their beautiful art of weaving. We will get a very special and private insight into their work.
Near to Bundi we offer interesting tours that unravel the intricacies and influences that have shaped Indian fabric and textiles including hand knotted carpet making.
The day excursion generally includes textile or craft museum visits and meet-ups with artisans, designers, collectors and their collections, with a culinary break thrown in for good measure.
